My Payconiq account is no longer active (e.g. forgotten PIN, changed device, reinstalled app) – can I still transfer it to the Payconiq by Bancontact app?

If you’re still using the old Smart Banking ING app, you can just download the Payconiq by Bancontact app and connect your card and bank account to it. Keep in mind that it’s important to connect your bank account to have access to all the Payconiq functionalities and to all extra services.

If you’ve switched to the new ING Banking app, you will be able to switch to the Payconiq by Bancontact app in April.

Don’t worry, though, we have three solutions to keep you paying mobile.

  1. Use Payconiq within the ING Banking app You now have the Payconiq payment functionalities embedded in the ING Banking app. It is already possible, for example, to make Payconiq payments via a Payconiq QR code or to create Payconiq payment requests. To use the Payconiq features in the ING Banking app, select "Payments" at the bottom of the screen. For the moment, you can’t send money to friends from your contact list, but we’re working to make this feature available soon.
  2. Connect an ING Bancontact card in the Payconiq by Bancontact app Download the Payconiq by Bancontact app and connect your ING Bancontact card. You’ll be able to pay by scanning a Payconiq or a Bancontact QR code.
  3. Connect a bank account from another bank We understand if the two solutions above are not enough and you want a full Payconiq experience. You can decide to connect a bank account from another bank supporting Payconiq payments (AXA, Belfius, BNP Paribas Fortis, CBC BANQUE, Fintro, Hello Bank!, KBC Bank, KBC BRUSSELS,  vdk bank). You might, however, need our help - since your Payconiq account is no longer active -, so contact our support team via support@payconiq.be and we’ll be happy to help.
