Accepting payments with meal vouchers? It's easy thanks to Payconiq, even if you don't have a payment terminal! Give your customers the option to pay with both meal vouchers and Payconiq in one single scan in your business. We collaborate with the three meal vouchers providers: Edenred, Monizze and Pluxee.

A new way to pay with meal vouchers

Accepting payments with meal vouchers has never been easier! Does your client have insufficient balance on their meal vouchers? Or aren’t all items eligible for meal voucher payments? In the past, you’d have to process 2 separate payments.

As of now, the days of multiple actions per client are over!

Your customer only has to scan the Payconiq QR code and we do the rest. We combine a Payconiq payment and a payment with meal vouchers in 1 single scan.

We then suggest a payment method based on the available meal voucher balance, the maximum amount that can be paid with meal vouchers and the total amount to be paid. Not only is this a lot easier for you and your customers, but it also saves everyone time at the checkout!

This solution is currently available via all Payconiq products, except for a QR code on a payment terminal and via an online payment page.

A new way to pay with meal vouchers

How to receive meal vouchers payments easily?

  1. You enter the maximum amount that can be paid with meal vouchers (only for Payconiq GO or if Payconiq has been integrated into your cash register).
  2. Your customer scans the Payconiq QR code on your sticker or your smartphone with their Payconiq by Bancontact app.
  3. Your customer will receive an overview of the amount and payment methods. If meal vouchers are linked to their Payconiq by Bancontact app, they will automatically see Edenred, Monizze or Pluxee appear as a payment option.
  4. Regardless of whether your customer has sufficient balance on their meal vouchers, they can make the payment in the same scan. How?
    - If the client has sufficient balance on their meal vouchers and they only buy food or drinks, the client pays the full amount with meal vouchers.
    - If the meal voucher balance is lower than the amount to be paid, then the remaining amount will be paid using the bank account the customer has linked in the Payconiq by Bancontact app.

Even when paying for products that cannot be paid for with meal vouchers, such as a bag, the split is automatically made for the customer in one scan.
  5. Your customer selects and confirms the payment split and done!

This feature will soon also be available to your customers in KBC Mobile, CBC Mobile and KBC Brussels.

How is payment made?

You will immediately receive confirmation of the payment. You can see the split between meal vouchers and Payconiq payments in the export of your transactions in your merchant portal or via your cash register system.

You will receive the money from meal vouchers payments directly via Edenred, Monizze and/or Pluxee. The transaction costs for meal vouchers payments are also handled by your meal voucher provider(s). The transaction cost per Payconiq payment in your business remains €0.06.
